Valgrays Border Collie and Animal Rescue

"The funds came at the right time for the charity as it was thrown into an emergency with severe flooding to the stable / kennel areas – without the help many dogs would have been turned away and left to the mercy of others – thank you from all at Valgrays!"

Valgrays Border Collie and Animal Rescue

Valgrays Border Collie and Animal Rescue was established in 1978 and the charity aims to relieve the suffering and distress of dogs, with a strong focus on border collies, but not exclusively. They also help other animals in need where they can. The small, volunteer led charity helps to take in and rehome many animals each year.

Valgrays was awarded a grant of £5206 for much kennel block refurbishment – to convert an existing stable space into kennels. A change of plan occurred when nesting swifts were found in the original block planned for renovation and they couldn’t be disturbed, so Valgrays worked with The Belforte Foundation to find a solution for the works and the funding, resulting in two new kennel blocks, which have since been used to house 10 dogs, including 6 pups! Not only are the new kennels better for the dogs, the additional space means the charity can rescue more animals, and they anticipate that an additional 20 dogs per year will benefit from the new kennel space.
