Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary (FARS) was founded in 1988, and is is one of the UK’s oldest farm rescues. It is home to over 400 rescued animals including over 300 sheep, pigs, chickens, cats, and wild birds and dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need and providing a sanctuary space that allows them to live out their natural lives free from harm and suffering. They also work with their networks to rehome, and work to rehabilitate and rewild wildlife.
FARS were awarded a grant of £5000 to help support core running costs during the winter months, particularly the purchase of feed, straw and hay for our animals. The grant made a huge impact on their work over winter, helping to cover some of the increased costs for feed, hay and straw needed during this season. Freeing up funds for these items allowed the charity to use their reserves for other essential costs such as repairs from recent weather damage.
