Hedgepigs and Hoglets Rescue

"Without the grant Hedgepigs and Hoglets received from The Belforte Foundation we would have struggled to stay afloat as a rescue charity because the cost of living crisis has hit us hard, doubling our vets fees, foodstuffs, energy costs, meds and treatments. We are so very grateful for the Belforte Foundation’s support, without which we would have been in dire straits."

Hedgepigs and Hoglets Rescue is a small charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured or orphaned native hedgehogs and small wild mammals back to their natural environment.

We gave Hedgepigs and Hoglets Rescue a grant of £2600 towards general costs for medications, food and cleaning materials. The charity was feeling stretched by their summer intake of over 120 hedgehogs with complex needs within just a 5 month period with large costs for milk, food, heat pads and ever increasing vet costs. All of this was during a period where the charity had to start preparing to move premises and the charity said that they would have struggled without our support.
