This small, self funded, independent wildlife rehabilitation facility has been run by a wildlife rescue trained volunteer from their own premises since 2019. Accepting cases directly from local veterinary practices, they rescue and rehabilitate all kinds of animals including rabbits, birds, rodents, and other mammals in North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.
The Belforte Foundation awarded a grant of just over £1100 for the purchase of a variety of small equipment including incubation units, a microscope, hedgehog pens and heaters amongst other items. The equipment was used predominantly to enhanced and expand the isolation unit. In the first three months of the grant, the grant has helped around 30 animals and the new additional equipment enables an increased number of animals to be helped long term.
