The Moorland Mousie Trust helps the endangered Exmoor pony breed of which only around 3000 remain worldwide. They prevent unwanted foals from being destroyed, carry out healthchecks and treatments, rehome when appropriate and provide equine therapy to disadvantaged individuals.
The Belforte Foundation awarded an additional grant to the Moorland Mousie Trust of £3000 (having also funded previously) towards veterinary costs. The funding has supported welfare work, contributing to ongoing care costs such as vaccinations, dental, farriery and parasite control for the ponies in their care. It also allowed the charity to assist further young ponies in the last year, providing veterinary treatments and neutering operations. In total, over 50 ponies, from onsite at the Exmoor Pony Centre and across the country benefitted from the generous grant from the Belforte Foundation.
