Staffie Smiles Rescue

"This grant couldn't have come at a better time. The funding meant we could give dogs the treatment they needed straight away, including vital spaying and neutering, without worrying about how we were going to cover the costs. It took a huge weight off our shoulders and allowed us to focus on rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for dogs in need. We are incredibly grateful for this support, and it has made a real difference to both our rescue and the lives of the dogs we care for."

Staffie Smiles Rescue is a volunteer-run charity working to rescue Staffordshire Bull Terriers across the UK. They work primarily with “poundies”, lost of abandoned dogs that are in local authority pounds and face the threat of unnecessary destruction. The charity provides a lifeline to these dogs so that they may go to live the rest of their lives in loving homes and where necessary support with long term foster schemes for elderly dogs.

The Belforte Foundation awarded a grant of £3000 to help with ongoing veterinary costs, an increasing burden on the charities finances. The grant was used to help five dogs ranging from necessary routine treatments, dental treatment, removal of a mass, and treatment for life threatening pyometra.
