Suffolk Hedgehog Hospital was founded around 17 years ago, originally from home, but now runs from a bespoke mini-hospital. The charity helps over 1000 hedgehogs per year, but it isn’t just hedgehogs that they help – intake has included lots of other native wildlife including birds and rabbits too, amongst others. The charity’s aims are to relieve the suffering of animals in need of care and attention, with a focus on the treatment of orphaned, injured, ill or abandoned animals. Suffolk Hedgehog Hospital always aims to return any wild animals to their natural environment and any domestic animal to a suitable loving home.

The Belforte Foundation awarded a grant of £2500 to support the costs of medications and vet bills, including ringworm treatments that will help around 400 animals, and also to help two hedgehogs with broken legs to be treated and released back into the wild. The grant was vital to help ensure the continued running of much needed rehabilitation services in the area and was gratefully received.
