"Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue was awarded a grant from The Belforte Trust which gave valuable financial support to purchase hedgehog houses and feeding stations ready for future releases. It enabled us to provide suitable shelter and safe feeding places at the release sites for the hedgehogs who, after their period of rehabilitation, were ready to go back into the wild and give them the best possible support during this time and for the future. "

Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue

Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue is a local, volunteer run charity that has been registered since 2019, helping hundreds of hedgehogs in need each year. The charity’s carers receive orphaned, sick and injured hedgehogs from across the West Midlands and do all they can to bring them back to health and re-release.

The Belforte Foundation awarded Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue £1000 towards joint funding of new hedgehog houses and feeding stations, to provide shelter and safe feeding points for hedgehogs released back into the wild following their rescue and rehabilitation. The grant enabled the charity to release the hedgehogs promptly when they were ready and to provide the owners of gardens suitable houses and feeding stations to support the hogs during the initial release time and hopefully well into the future. The houses and feeding stations have already been put to good use, helping hedgehogs back into the wild.
